November 13th & 14th, 2020 in Dallas, Texas
Come and experience a diverse cast, amazing vendors and events, as well as carefully curated classes to help you bring your darkest dreams to life.
As a sound and an aesthetic, goth was always on the fringe. Its earliest recognizable form was during the early days of glam rock - the baroque fantasy fetishizing Victorian garb morphing into sci-fi delight and sequins. Queer icons like Marc Bolan and David Bowie would shape that early image of goth-glam, these influences are still felt in modern iterations. Goth would be reborn in the era of post-punk by icons like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, Joy Division and countless other groups.
Nocturnal Burlesque Festival will focus on honoring those roots, as well as celebrating how each of our performers carry these sounds and visions into the future. Our mission as a festival is to uplift the voices of queer performers and performers of color - to create a space where all are safe and united in celebrating the art and music we all love.
